SPCI 2027

The International Symposium on the Science and Processing of Cast Iron (SPCI) began in 1964, with its first edition held in Detroit, USA, and has since established itself as a prestigious international meeting point for the global cast iron community. Over the decades, the symposium has been hosted in different countries, accompanying scientific, technological, and industrial advances in cast iron materials and applications.

Recognized as the world’s leading scientific forum in this field, SPCI brings together researchers, students, and industry professionals to foster innovation, knowledge exchange, and collaboration between academia and industry.

In its 14th edition, scheduled for September 2027, the symposium—organized by Tupy S.A. in partnership with SENAI Santa Catarina—will take place in Joinville, Santa Catarina (Brazil), with a strong focus on innovation, sustainability, energy efficiency, and decarbonization.

SPCI‑XIV continues the tradition of strengthening applied research and promoting future-oriented solutions for the foundry sector.
