11th ICSTI 2027

The 11th International Congress on the Science and Technology of Ironmaking will be held from 14 to 18 June 2027, in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan. It will be organized by the Iron and Steel Institute of Japan (ISIJ).

The first ICSTI was held in Sendai, Japan, in 1994, with the aim of deepening and exchanging scientific knowledge and technology in ironmaking, as well as promoting international collaboration among researchers and engineers. Since then, the congress has been held in Toronto, Canada (1998); Düsseldorf, Germany (2003); Osaka, Japan (2006); Shanghai, China (2009); Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (2012); Cleveland, USA (2015); Vienna, Austria (2018); Bremen, Germany (2022); and Beijing, China (2025). Throughout its history, ICSTI has consistently provided participants with the latest insights into ironmaking technologies reflecting contemporary industrial and societal needs.

In recent years, the global steel industry has been undergoing unprecedented transformation amid accelerating societal efforts toward carbon neutrality. ICSTI2027 aims to provide an international platform for academia, researchers, and engineers from around the world to showcase cutting-edge research, exchange innovative ideas, and discuss the future of ironmaking in a rapidly evolving landscape.
